Average length: 4.5-15 in.

Juveniles: Same as the adults.

Habitats: Deserts, bushy areas, grasslands, scrub, or some forests. They live in areas with rocks, streams, and/or washes and they hide under rocks or debris.

Fun fact: They are one of the smallest snakes in California.
